Wuhan Branch Library Participated in the Training of Sino-Australian Geological Storage of Carbon Dioxide

Sino-Australia geological storage of carbon dioxide summer course was held in Sanya, Hainan on 22-25th,August, which was sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology Agenda 21 Management Center and Bureau of Geosciences of Australia, hosted by the South China Sea Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Li Guiju and Jiang Shan, who were from the Information Analysis Department, Wuhan Branch of The National Sciences Library, participated in  the training.

Experts and scholars of both government and industry from China and Australia, were invited to give lectures to the training course, carbon dioxide of sea sequestration policy-related issues ranging from technical, economic, risk assessment and monitoring were discussed in the lectures.

The venue arranged multiple discussions around the problems of carbon dioxide emissions, the pros and cons of the CCS technology and CCS case risks, to strengthen the understanding and awareness of the training contents, and promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign participants. Each group discussed the results of the final appraisal. Li Guiju and Jiang Shan team, Wuhan Branch Library, won the discussions, because of their clear ideas, integrity and justified viewpoints.

By participating in the training courses, CCS Project Team of Wuhan Branch Library were comprehensively understanding and learning the latest developments in sea sequestration of carbon dioxide, while strengthening the communication and exchanges with CCS people from home and abroad, in order to lay the foundation for the Wuhan Branch Library CCS service capabilities.
